How do I order a transportation vehicle or make a reservation?

Book your airport reservation online, call us at 224.858.4480 or use our Route 47 transportation vehicle mobile app to order a transportation vehicle for local rides.

What services do you provide?

We provide two (2) primary services, local transportation and airport transportation. Local transportation is any metered fare transportation vehicle ride. Airport transportation are flat rate, private rides to and from O'Hare, Midway, Rockford, and Mitchell (Milwaukee) airports.

What are your rates?

Use our online airport reservation form, or call 224.858.4480 for our low flat rates to O'Hare, Midway, Rockford, and Mitchell (Milwaukee) airports. Please see our Service Area page for our local metered rates.

How much does it cost to go to the airport?

Route 47 Transportation Services, Inc. offers low flat rates to O'Hare, Midway, Rockford, and Mitchell (Milwaukee) airports. The flat rate varies based upon the pickup/dropoff location. Use our online airport reservation form or call 224.858.4480 for the specific flat rate for your address.

Did your airport rates change?

Starting on January 1, 2016, new flat rate fares went into effect. • For Huntley travelers, we increased our flat rate to/from Midway airport. The flat rate fare to/from O'Hare and Rockford airport has not changed. • For travelers outside of Huntley, our flat rate fare is now determined by your specific pickup/dropoff address and the airport of your choice, namely O'Hare, Midway, and Rockford airports. In other words, the flat rate fare is no longer town-based but address specific. We made these changes to bring the fares more in line with the actual cost of the airport transport. These changes will result in a minor increase or decrease of cost for most of our existing customers. However, this change will allow us to continue to provide the modern, well maintained vehicles you have come to expect from Route 47 Transportation Services, Inc.. Call 224.858.4480 for your specific flat rate.

What is the latest I can call for a ride to or from the airport?

You can call us anytime at 224.858.4480 for a ride to or from the airport. However, if you call less than one (1) hour before your desired pick up time, the following conditions apply:

• $10 surcharge added to the flat rate for a ride to or from O'Hare

• $35 surcharge added to the flat rate for a ride to or from Midway

• Pick up at airport requires a prepay on a credit card

Can I get a confirmation of my reservation?

Yes. You can actually receive 3 confirmations. If you provide us with your email address, you will receive a confirmation email at the time of reservation. You will also receive a confirmation phone call 12-24 hours prior to your scheduled pickup. Finally, you will receive another confirmation email when your driver has been assigned to your reservation. The confirmation email will include the driver's name and the vehicle.

What do I do if my return flight changes and I am now scheduled to arrive early?

Our dispatchers and your driver will be tracking the flight number you provided during reservation. If your flight booking changes and you are booked on a different flight that will arrive early, please call us at 224.858.4480 immediately so that we can update your reservation. This notification will ensure that you have a vehicle waiting for you upon your arrival. Otherwise, you will have to wait until a driver can drive to the airport to pick you up.

How long do I have to wait for a transportation vehicle?

If we are picking up at the airport, it takes the driver approximately 10-12 minutes to arrive at your pick up location from the parking area (transportation vehicle stand). The exception to this normal wait time is airport high traffic times such as Thursday or Friday nights and holidays in which the wait time can exceed 30 minutes. Wait times for a local ride will depend upon various factors (location of vehicle, traffic, weather, etc.) The dispatcher will advise you of your wait time.

Are your airport rides shared?

No. Route 47 Transportation Services, Inc. only offers airport rides as private rides. If an airport ride must be shared, passengers will be advised and offered the option to wait for a private car.

Can you pick me up at the Departures terminal?

No. We can only pick up at the Arrivals terminal.

How long will the driver wait for me at the airport?

Route 47 Transportation Services, Inc. policy is to wait 60 minutes for our passenger's call after their flight has arrived. We understand that it can take some time for passengers to deboard the plane and acquire their luggage. If we don't receive a call after 60 minutes, the dispatcher will attempt to call the passenger. If we do not hear from the passenger after another 30 minutes has passed, the driver will leave the airport and the customer will be charged the full amount for the airport ride.

Why do I have to wait for a transportation vehicle after l get my luggage at the airport?

Suburban transportation vehicle are not allowed to wait for passengers in the Arrivals terminals at O‘Hare and Midway airports. Therefore, we have to wait until the passenger is ready for their pickup before sending the transportation vehicle from the taxi stand to the Arrivals terminal.

Why did VOUI‘ transportation vehicle drive pass me in the Arrivals terminal?

Each passenger is assigned a specific vehicle at the time of reservation. These vehicle assignments are often based upon passenger group and luggage requirements. Most likely, the passing transportation vehicles is on its way to pick up another passenger that arrived shortly before you. Please be patient. Your transportation vehicle is following just a few minutes behind.

Can I call fOl‘ one Of YOUI‘ transportation vehicles at the airport after my plane arrives?

Suburban transportation vehicle are only allowed to pick up prearranged rides from the airports. Therefore, you need a reservation with us to have a vehicle waiting upon your arrival at the airport. Moreover, reservations allow us to efficiently schedule our transportation vehicles and ensure prompt service for all our customers.

If you choose to wait and arrange for a ride after your plane lands, you will have to wait for the next available transportation vehicle to travel to the airport, and you will be required to prepay for the ride with a credit card. There is also a $10surcharge added to the flat rate for the unscheduled pick up at O'Hare and a $35 surcharge added to the flat rate for the unscheduled pick up at Midway.

What is the difference between a Chicago city taxi and your transportation vehicle?

The major difference between Chicago city transportation vehicle and Route 47 Transportation Services, Inc. vehicle is that Chicago city taxis do not offer flat rate rides to the airports. All Chicago city taxi rides are metered rate fares.
